I just presented a Saturday Seminar all about the More Tuneful Tots & Bouncin’ Bairns project for North Tyneside Council. Singing in the early years was a big focus of the morning. As part of our discussions, we talked about how we all used singing in response to children’s play and exploration of their world.
One of the practitioners shared with us her favourite song to use when out and about in the meadow near her setting. She adapts the tune of ‘I went to visit a farm one day’ and sings about whatever they see or are doing as they go.
