Words:

Ticklebird, ticklebird, fly round your tummy
Ticklebird, ticklebird, fly round your tummy
Ticklebird, ticklebird, fly round your tummy
And then you take a peck!
Tickle here, tickle there, tickle everywhere
Tickle here, tickle there, tickle everywhere
Tickle here, tickle there, tickle everywhere
Tickle here, tickle there, tickle everywhere

Context:

This is an absolute gem from Sandra Kerr from Musical Eyes Network’s  Musical Babies CPD day in April.

This is used with kind permission of Sheena Roberts, and is from her wonderful book “Playsongs: Actions songs and rhymes for babies and toddlers”.  If you do not have this book and are looking for songs and rhymes for babies, it is worth investing in, as it’s the only book you’ll ever need!

This is a tickler, with great opportunities for anticipation and non-verbal communication between you and your child. ‘Fly’ your fingers around the baby or toddler in circles, then swoop in to take a ‘peck’ on her nose/tummy/foot, wherever you like. Watch out for her non-verbal cues like feet kicking, giggling, arms waving to show she’d like you to do it again.
